Blue Oat Grass and Privet are layered to provide a sense of entry as well as a scrim of privacy at my front entrance. There are 28 of the grasses planted in a grid adjacent to the sidewalk. Veronica liwanensis fills the gaps between the walkway.
The exterior of my house has just been painted black. Inspired by the advice in this article I created a custom color using equal parts of black and brown paint. The result is very dramatic and looks especially stunning with the budding spring green foliage.
To keep my kitchen counter surfaces clear, appliances are stored away until needed. They are stowed in a cabinet below were they are used making them easily accessible.

The early arrival of warm weather has me out in the garden prepping and thinking about what I might want to plant this season. The exterior of my house is being painted black so it should make a dramatic backdrop for my preferred plant palette of gray, green, brown and black. Remember the spectacular Black Beauty Elephant Ear? I am on the search for more black varieties. In mid March, along with planting the cold weather crops I also planted a seed packet of Black Magic Bachelor's Button. It is exciting to see that they are already starting to peek through the soil.

My admiration for the work of Lilith Rockett began a few years ago while sourcing ceramics for a client's collection. One of the pieces acquired was a Lilith Rockett egg vase. I was fortunate and just received one as a gift.

A custom mirror at the end of this hallway in my living space creates a focal point and a sense of destination, keeping the area from feeling too closed in.
I apply the same pared back design approach to my closet as I do to my living and workspace. I organize my clothing by category/color and use one style/color of hanger. I like these white wood hangers so much that they are included in the FAVORITES section.
